When curiosity meets opportunity, magic happens. Last week, we had the incredible honor of hosting some truly inspiring young minds from Singapore.

A Visit That Sparked Innovation

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the bright and curious minds from Cedar Secondary Girls’ School to our space here in Yogyakarta. What started as a simple visit quickly transformed into something much more meaningful—a genuine exchange of ideas, aspirations, and the shared belief that technology can be a powerful force for positive change.

The Cedarian girls didn’t just come to observe; they came with genuine curiosity about our community and how we’ve built Jogja Coding House into a space that empowers young people to grow through technology. Their enthusiasm was absolutely infectious, and it reminded us why we do what we do every single day.

More Than Just a Tech Tour

During their visit, we had the opportunity to share several key aspects of our mission:

AI-Powered Web Development
We introduced the students to how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing web development, showing them practical applications and tools that are shaping the future of technology. It was fascinating to see their eyes light up as they discovered new possibilities for creating and innovating.

Building Youth-Led Spaces
We shared our journey of creating Jogja Coding House—from our founding in 2022 under PT Kode Kolektif Indonesia to becoming a thriving community where developers across Yogyakarta connect, collaborate, and grow together. The girls were particularly interested in how we’ve fostered an environment where junior and senior developers work side by side, sharing knowledge and supporting each other’s growth.

The Power of Community
Our office tour gave them a firsthand look at our collaborative environment. They saw how we’ve designed our space to encourage interaction, learning, and innovation. From our community areas where developers share coding insights to our skill development zones where members upgrade their technical abilities, every corner tells a story of growth and possibility.

What Makes This Visit Special

The enthusiasm and genuine curiosity of the Cedar girls reminded us of something fundamental: the future of technology isn’t just about the tools we build—it’s about the people who will use them to solve tomorrow’s challenges. These young women from Singapore represent exactly the kind of innovative thinking our world needs.

Their visit also highlighted the importance of international collaboration in the tech community. Geography doesn’t limit great ideas, and seeing these students engage with our mission reinforced our belief that the best innovations happen when diverse minds come together.

Our Core Mission in Action

As a developer community in Yogyakarta, we’re committed to providing:

  • Community Connection: A platform where developers from junior to senior levels share knowledge and experiences
  • Skill Development: Collaborative opportunities to upgrade coding abilities across various tech stacks
  • Career Support: Direct guidance from experienced talent acquisition professionals
  • Global Networks: Connections with local, national, multinational, and international companies

The Cedar girls’ visit perfectly exemplified these values in action—bringing together curious minds from different cultures to explore how technology can create positive change.

Looking Forward: Connect, Collaborate, Grow

This visit reinforced our commitment to our motto: Connect, Collaborate, and Grow together!

The questions the Cedarian students asked, their genuine interest in our community-building approach, and their enthusiasm for technology’s potential reminded us that the future is bright when young people are empowered with the right tools, knowledge, and community support.

We’re excited about the possibility of future collaborations and exchanges. After all, the best innovations happen when brilliant minds from different backgrounds come together to share ideas and inspire each other.
